ABOUT CORTNEY

Beach yoga class

Cortney’s yoga journey began a decade ago when she first fell in love with the practice. Growing up as a dancer and gymnast, yoga was almost an inevitable transition as she evolved spiritually. Recognizing that yoga was her calling, Cortney completed her RYT 200 in 2014 and has been teaching ever since. While working towards completing her YTT, Cortney had a vision of teaching yoga on Deerfield Beach and upon graduating from training, Cortney began to cultivate a small beach yoga community. Immediately Cortney felt compelled to bring more people together through yoga and her desire to grow her small community was strong. She worked tirelessly to spread her love of yoga to others and after just a few short years, Cortney’s vision was brought to life. Having guided as many as 210 yogis through a practice, Cortney hosts monthly full moon beach yoga classes where she averages 100+ students per class. When not in the sand, Cortney can be found teaching in her home studio where she has been for the past five years, teaching classes at her gym and offering private lessons. Cortney’s most recent accomplishments include teaching at the both YogaFest and The Yoga Expo along side of the most highly regarded yogis in the community. As a lifelong learner, Cortney has continued her education and gone on to obtain her Yin yoga certification, as well as her children’s yoga certification. Keeping the yin and the yang in balance, (and not wanting to leave out her other love, the fitness world), Cortney has also obtained her TRX qualification and completed hot Pilates training. Extras: Favorite yoga pose: sirsasana (headstand) Favorite types of yoga to practice: power or Vinyasa Favorite quotes: “You are always stronger than you think you are” & “Sometimes life is about risking everything for a dream no one but you can see.” Quirky facts: I love reggaeton music & going dancing!
